Almost exactly 15 years after the first euroPLX Meeting (then called European Pharma Licensing Meeting) was held on 20 June 1995 in Frankfurt, Germany, with only 11 nations represented, euroPLX has become the pharma industry's most international partnering event with delegates from regularly more than 35 countries attending: euroPLX 43 Berlin saw almost 200 delegates of 137 companies from 37 countries and four continents.
An astonishing 28.5% of all companies participating in Berlin attended a euroPLX Meeting for the very first time - after 15 years!
The leading partnering event for pharma and biopharma business development delivered an average of 23.2 pre-scheduled one-on-one negotiations per participating company on two conference days, in addition to numerous appointments which were scheduled on site.
The interest of the participating pharma and biotech companies was focused on patented (61%) and generic drugs (89%) as well as biosimilars (23%), and the growing interest in preclinical and early clinical stages reflected the presence of biotech and research specialist companies. Nevertheless, approved drugs attracted most of the interest, in particular prescription drugs.
